The Incomprehensible Reader

This movie, The Reader, is quite incomprehensible for me. It makes me feel illiterate. Hard to follow the raw sequence, to accept Kate Winslet's best performance in a leading role, and to understand characters. Is it because I've never been a Berliner, even though I've been to Mauthausen? 'Cause I never run into a passionate affection? 'Cause I'm not old enough yet?
Need someone to read this movie for me. I don't prefer to be read to, but it's inevitable.

One more thing. Just act in German. What kind of dialect are they speaking at all, Alaskan? -ㅅ-
